Our Members Latest news AT THE EUROPEAN MUSIC COUNCIL EFM 2026 - Music, Health and Wellbeing The European Forum on Music (EFM) returns in 2026 with its 14th edition, dedicated to the theme Music, Health & Wellbeing. We are delighted to welcome you to Timișoara, Romania, from 9 to 12 June 2026, where we will explore how music supports physical and mental health, strengthens resilience, and contributes to wellbeing across society. Recent research and policy discussions highlight the critical role of culture in public health. Studies have shown how musical engagement - from listening and participation to structured therapeutic interventions - can reduce stress, support recovery, improve cognitive and emotional functioning, and help prevent ill health. more SHIFT Eco-Certification The EMC is committed to minimise its ecological footprint, implementing sustainable practices, and behaving as an example of good environmental practice for our members and other cultural networks. Alongside 16 other networks, the EMC has received its eco-certification through SHIFT Culture for the third year in a row. Having implemented the mandatory guidelines with due care and attention and adding additional optional norms each year, the EMC continued its work by researching specific practices to reduce its environmental impact, ensuring it remains up to date with sustainable and environmentally friendly approaches. more Press release GreenBeat Nexus We are proud to announce the launch of GreenBeat Nexus – Transitioning Europe’s Music Ecosystem Toward Sustainable and Desirable Futures! Co-funded by the European Union under the Music Moves Europe initiative, GreenBeat Nexus is a pioneering initiative designed to advance the green transition of the European music sector in alignment with the EU Green Deal. Over the next four years, through sector-wide research, capacity building, and financial support, the project will accelerate immediate sustainability adoption, establish a long-term Network of Green Specialists, and position music as a catalyst for cross-sectoral collaboration and societal transformation towards a climate-resilient future. more Joint statement Policy recommendations EU-UK cultural relations The EMC is among more than 200 stakeholders from the EU’s and the UK’s Cultural and Creative Sectors (CCS) that have signed Policy Recommendations to strengthen the EU-UK cultural relations.
