Read more about AMAP Latest Arctic projects Several new projects have been established to support AMAP’s ongoing assessments of Arctic pollution and climate issues under the Icelandic Chairmanship of the Arctic Council (2019-2021). They include new work on mercury, human health, climate-contaminants interactions, short-lived climate forcers, Arctic climate trends, and climate-ecosystem interactions. As well as informing the Arctic Council, this work contributes to global efforts under, e.g., the Stockholm and Minamata Conventions, the UNFCCC/IPCC and other international processes that rely on sound, independent scientific knowledge to inform decision-making.
