This extension was published in the December 1983 issue of Compute!s Gazette. Here is the description for the program from the magazine: If you've always wanted to create sprites on your Commodore 64, but have been put off by all the complicated POKEs, this article is your answer. It lets you modify BASIC to add three new sprite commands to make the job much easier. An accompanying side article also explains the rudiments of sprite design. Platform: Commodore 64Contributor: Marc HEfexBASIC v1.0 Category: BASIC Extensions02-25-25EfexBASIC v1.0 by Mark Hanzen (1990) is a neat extension for Commodore 64 BASIC that adds a bunch of screen related commands that give you different effects like clearing the screen with a vertical swipe, or fading out the characters on the screen. All in all there are 12 new commands to make your BASIC program pop with a little flair. The help screen you see when first starting the extension is all you need to start using the new commands. Platform: Commodore 64Contributor: Marc HZ-Pulator II+ Category: C/G Editors02-24-25Z-Pulator II+ by VIC / ZC is a screen editor for the Commodore 64. Platform: PDFContributor: Marc HInventory Management by Timeworks Category: Databases02-23-25This is a fairly complex database for small business inventory management. With the ability to track purchase orders, pre-orders, order/receive parts from suppliers, and much more, this seems like a program that could actually have been used by a small business. The program supports two disk drives, another big plus. On the downside, Inventory Management is not Y2K compliant. Also of note is that when Inventory Management starts a new blank database, it creates a gigantic relative file on the disk. This process takes so long I was convinced the C64 had locked up. Platform: Commodore 64Contributor: Alan ReedWarlock Nibbler v1.0 Category: Disk Copiers02-23-25Warlock Nibbler v1.0 by Warlock of Mosh Maasters - Todays utility is a simple nibble copier that supports 1 or 2 drives and replication of errors. Note - This program appears to work only on PAL machines (At least it only works on a PAL machine when using WinVICE v3.9) Platform: Commodore 64Contributor: Marc HGEOS PostScript Printing Category: GEOS Reference Material02-23-25Learn how to get the best output from GEOS Platform: Commodore 64Contributor: Bruce TSpeedscript 2.0 Category: Word Processing & Text Editors02-22-25Everyone who grew up with the C64 knows about Speedscript. The type-in word processor from Compute! magazine was practically ubiquitous. Speedscript 2.0, however, was only available from Compute!'s Gazette Disk in May, 1984. It has two standout features found in no other version of Speedscript: an attractive custom character set and a convenient Help Screen, invoked by pressing CTRL-W. Platform: Commodore 64Contributor: Alan ReedPage-Edit v5.2 Category: Word Processing & Text Editors02-22-25Page Edit v5.2 by Elwix of Style (March 1994) - I know the intro text calls this a text editor designed for a disk-magazine, but really it's an all-around nice text editor for anything that requires creating a document. There is also easy to access built-in help screens, what more could you ask for? Platform: Commodore 64Contributor: Marc HKiller Drive Category: Demos02-22-25It's the infamous Killer Drive! Platform: Commodore 64Contributor: Alan ReedJasword 1.1 Documentation Category: Software Manuals [C64]02-22-25I recently discovered the Jasword word processor and it has quickly become my #1 text editing tool for the Commodore 64. Here's the lightly edited documentation, printed and converted to a seven page PDF. Platform: Commodore 64Contributor: Alan ReedgeoPublish Unkeyed Category: Desktop Publishing [GEOS]02-22-25This is an Unkeyed version of geoPublish by Berkley Softworks. There are five disks images in the archive and the complete manual in PDF format. Disk 2 in the archive is a sample/demo disk with some example documents. It appears side 1 and side 2 of disk 2 are identical except for the disk header. Platform: Commodore 64Contributor: Marc HDatafile 3.6 Category: Databases02-22-25Datafile (later sold commercially as dfile 64), is an excellent simple database program and an example of the great things that can be done in BASIC. Originally published in RUN magazine over the span of three issues in 1987, version 3.6 includes DFPrint, an accessory for creating mailing labels and reports, and DFCalc, an accessory that performs calculations and produces spreadsheet-like reports. This archive includes a D64 with all these programs. Also included are the accompanying RUN magazine articles (with program listings) in PDF form. Platform: Commodore 64Contributor: Alan ReedFar Side Gallery Category: Graphics and Pictures02-21-25The Best of... The Far Side Gallery is a very well done slideshow of classic Far Side comics. The slides advance quickly, even on a stock 1541 drive, so use the SHIFT-LOCK key to pause the show. Platform: Commodore 64Contributor: Alan Reed Error: Embedded data could not be displayed.
