After graduation, he relocated to the New Orleans area and began working for Chevron in the Gulf of Mexico. Over the next 18 years he would work as a drill site representative and drilling engineer on a variety of rig types for Chevron from land rigs to deepwater drill ships. He served as a Managed Pressure drilling and underbalanced drilling specialist throughout that time with Chevron. In 2014, he became a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Louisiana and currently is a member of the NCEES exam writing committee. In 2020 he began working for Boots & Coots as a Sr. Well Control Engineer and is currently a member of the global emergency response team.
