One of the main purposes of our public health work is to raise awareness around gambling harm to Asian communities and to support meaningful changes to those who have a gambling problem. ​Ivan Yeo Deputy Director/Health Promoter Lead Play Video Introducing Asha Asha, meaning ‘hope’ in Hindi, is the name of Asian Family Services’ new support service for South Asians living in New Zealand. This service started in response to an increasing number of South Asians needing help with gambling problems. Asha’s counselling and support is free of charge, completely confidential and is available for anyone impacted by harmful gambling.
