We must reintegrate it into the human condition, acknowledging its inherent social and spiritual value. The global water crisis is a human rights crisis, and we can no longer ignore it. Our bias for action is the only path forward. Innovation is the key to solving wicked water problems, but it must be applied with urgency across funding, technology, policy, and partnerships. There is no time for outdated thinking. The future belongs to the "unreasonable." These are the people who will tackle climate change, ecosystem decline, and other wicked problems with bold solutions. My focus and initiatives Earth Finance (Formerly Water Foundry) Pureterra Digital Blue Watermarq About Me BIO: Born and raised in New York City (Brooklyn and Queens), I've long called the American West home. My journey, however, has always been deeply rooted in water. From surfing Long Island's shores and conducting oceanographic research on Block Island Canyon's sedimentology to my current passion for rowing in Colorado, water has remained a constant, almost magical, presence. My early fascination with water led me to pursue degrees in Earth and Environmental Sciences from Queens College, CUNY. My initial career focused on water supply projects, brownfield remediation, and environmental litigation. A pivotal shift occurred after business trips to Australia, where I discovered the emerging fields of climate change and sustainability. This revelation ignited a new passion, transforming my professional path. I co-founded and re-engineered an environmental engineering company into a sustainability strategy firm, specializing in water, climate, and energy. Despite early financial challenges, I persisted, driven by the conviction that sustainability would define our era. Today, I dedicate my expertise to water strategy, technology innovation, and investing in water technology startups. MISSION: My mission is to advance water strategy, technology innovation, and investment in the water sector. I am committed to supporting and growing companies that are developing solutions for critical global issues such as freshwater access, water scarcity, and climate resilience. I aim to leverage my expertise and experience to connect capital with innovative ideas, helping to bring impactful water technologies to fruition. PHILOSOPHY: I believe that sustainability, particularly concerning water, is the defining challenge and opportunity of our time. My professional and personal life is inextricably linked to this conviction. I see water as not just a resource, but a vital element demanding our utmost respect and innovative solutions. I am driven by the belief that forward-thinking, even "unreasonable," individuals are essential to catalyze the progress needed to address complex environmental challenges. My philosophy centers on the idea that early adoption and persistence in sustainability efforts, even when challenging, ultimately lead to a more secure and thriving future.
