SFS and its partner societies provide international platforms for communicating the sustainability crisis to facilitate socio-ecological transformation. SFS serves as a resource organization for broad interdisciplinary expertise and offers suggestions for individual, regional and international contributions to counter the sustainability crisis. SFS develops and disseminates guidelines for universities, other educational institutions, and government agencies. Our mission includes several key objectives: Raising awareness of the global sustainability crisis through clear, consistent communication of the concept of planetary boundaries, and the role they play in maintaining Earth's balance. Promoting the understanding and application of sustainability in all aspects of performance and life, including within each individual's immediate environment. Providing platforms for regular exchange, dialogue, and further development of sustainable practices and ideas, fostering a culture of constant learning and growth in this field. Broadening our activities across all scientific societies to build a systemic and comprehensive understanding of the complex issue of sustainability.
