These technological imports enable Algeria to develop and diversify its own production, increase its exports, and replace imports of consumables. In this context, plast & printpack alger plays an important role in raising awareness among the Algerian public of environmentally friendly materials and packaging, and in familiarising the public with the circular economy. Facts on Algeria’s rapidly growing plastics and packaging industry Imports of plastic raw materials grew by 9.0% annually between 2007 and 2022, from 304 kt to over a thousand kt in 2022. Algeria is thus the second largest importer of plastics in primary forms in Africa & Middle East, following Egypt and well ahead of the UAE. (EUROMAP) Algeria’s imports of plastics technology grew by 55% (!) in 2022, from €81m in 2021 to €126m. Algeria is thus the largest importer of plastics technology in the Maghreb, and together with Egypt, Nigeria and South Africa, one of Africa's largest importers of plastics technology. (VDMA) With €127m in 2022, Algeria belongs to the leading importers of packaging technologyon the African continent, together with Nigeria, South Africa and Egypt. Expected country pavilions at plast & printpack alger 2025 Algerian Participation plast & printpack alger is proud to host major governmental institutions and market leaders from Algeria's plastics, printing, and packaging industries. Austria Pavilion The Austrian Pavilion at plast & printpack alger receives strong support from ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Algeria, the commercial section of the Austrian Embassy in Algiers. China Pavilion A significant number of more than a hundred Chinese exhibitors are once again expected for the event, showcasing cutting-edge innovations and technologies. French Participation Renowned French market leaders showcased their products through individual corporate stands. Additionally, the Algerian-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry CCIAF provided crucial support for the French contingent. German Pavilion For the 2025 event, Germany will once again be officially represented with its own German Pavilion. The German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, along with the German Trade Fair Association AUMA and the VDMA Plastics and Rubber Machinery, provide full support for the Pavilion.   India Pavilion plast & printpack alger 2024 eagerly anticipated a strong participation from India, as industry players from the country showcased their latest products and solutions. Italy Pavilion The Italian Trade Agency ITA collaborated with trade associations AMAPLAST and ACIMGA to ensure a prominent Italian presence at plast & printpack alger 2024. Türkiye Pavilion The Turkish Pavilion is all set to make a significant impact, thanks to the strong support from the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Trade. Algeria invests in the production of plastics raw material and in plastics technology Since a few years, Algeria heavily invests in the production of plastics raw materials to be able to gradually reduce such imports. “When it comes to plastics technology” outlines Thomas Franken, Project Director K with Messe Duesseldorf, “Algeria’s investments amounted to 126 million euros in 2022. This makes Algeria the fourth largest investor in plastics technology in Africa.
