We're working to get a full review together right now, but one of the first things you'll notice unboxing the thing is that it doesn't come with an HDMI cable — the box contains the Streamer itself, a power brick and a USB cable, and a remote with batteries, but no way to connect the streaming box to your TV. That's not unusual. While dongle-style streamers like the Amazon's various Fire TV Sticks and Google's own line of Chromecast devices connect directly to TVs with no cable required, standalone boxes like the Fire TV Cube or Apple TV generally don't come with their own HDMIs. I think that's annoying, but I figure that, in most households, there probably aren't spare HDMI cables floating around. I'm assuming the cables that come packed in with things like game consoles are typically used with the devices they came with, and any HDMIs bought on their own would have been purchased for specific uses. The tech has drastically changed in the past 50 years, but parents' concern for their kids' safety and well-being has not. Today, the debate is whether kids should be allowed to bring their phones to school and, if they can, how they can use their phones. Like every story, there are at least two sides (and a lot of opinions) to this one. I don't have kids, and I'm not up-to-date on the topic. However, I appreciate responsible and fair journalism. Brian Barnes' article on school phone bans caught my eye this week because I appreciate his unbiased approach to a sensitive topic. Brian presented both sides of the argument, pointing out the positives and negatives of each. At the end of the article, I understood the complexities of the topic and felt well-informed. If you're a parent and don't know which way to turn, Brian offers a responsible approach to balancing your kid's phone needs a https://www.androidpolice.com/is-banning-phones-in-school-right-solution/ Coletta_Whitehead Coletta_Whitehead 12 hours ago Are flat sides better than curved phone frames? I know I prefer flat sides to curved screen edges when it comes to my phones. Sure, curved edges look cool, but holding a curved-edge phone feels like you're holding a slippery bar of soap, plus the curved edges make it challenging to correctly interact with elements that are placed under those edges, such as text. So, to me a curved screen edge is form over function, which I simply can not abide. But what about you? Do you prefer the look of curved screens, or do you despise them with a passion like me?
