Image © Saskia WehlerHow do pavilions emerge in architecture? What role do they play in urban spaces? Beyond the multiple interpretations that exist around the world, the pavilion, as an architectural principle and typology, tends toward extroversion, often associated with a centrifugal nature and visual openness toward the horizon, which is linked to its origins as a tent offering shelter from the elements. Pavilions are usually identified as isolated and independent structures that can promote lateral openings in the urban space, panoramic or introspective views, technological reflections, and material experiments that are recognizable from the outside or once inside.+ 26https://www.archdaily.com/1021424/pavilions-in-urban-spaces-on-the-experimentation-recycling-and-reuse-of-materialsAgustina IñiguezSaveRead more » Motion Equity Partners Headquarters / Studio Razavi ArchitectureSeptember 29© Simone Bossi+ 23 Offices, Office buildings•Paris, France Architects: Studio Razavi Architecture Area Area of this architecture project Area:  870 m² Year Completion year of this architecture project Year:  2024 Manufacturers Brands with products used in this architecture project Manufacturers:  FMG, Fritz Hansen, Interface, Viccarbe, &Tradition, +12Art&Boiserie, Atekuer FG Concept, Cybstores, Ecophon, Fasual, Ilot Ilov, Inedit Lighting, Laudescher, Orllabo, Paolo Donadello, Shaw, Tarkett-12 Professionals: PIKA, G2S Giudicelli, META Acoustique, Home Life https://www.archdaily.com/1021603/motion-equity-partners-headquarters-studio-razavi-architectureAnna DumitruSaveRead more » The Second Studio Podcast: 6 Reasons to Love ArchitectureSeptember 29 Videos © The Second Studio PodcastThe Second Studio (formerly The Midnight Charette) is an explicit podcast about design, architecture, and the everyday. Image © Nour El-RefaiIn recent years, continuous material finishes enveloping interior spaces have become increasingly prominent, particularly in branding-focused retail environments. A continuous interior refers to using what are typically liquid-applied materials that are cured to create seamless, uninterrupted surfaces, eliminating the appearance of joints and seams—at least during the initial application. A growing range of products now offer various color options, textures, and practical properties, making these finishes more versatile. Interestingly, the aesthetic effect of such interiors is uncanny to the rise of 3D rendering software, where the seamless, fluid look mirrors the smooth, idealized spaces typical of digital renderings. This effect also contributes to a sense of scalelessness, as the absence of visible seams or joints makes it harder to discern the actual size of a space, often giving the illusion that the interior is larger than it is.+ 10https://www.archdaily.com/1021321/seamless-surfaces-exploring-the-benefits-of-liquid-applied-finishes-with-12-interior-design-projectsJonathan YeungSaveRead more » New High-Rise-Block Böblingen District Hospital / Baumschlager Eberle ArchitektenSeptember 28© Roland Halbe+ 21 Residential Architecture, Apartments•Böblingen, Germany Architects: Baumschlager Eberle Architekten Area Area of this architecture project Area:  15936 m² Year Completion year of this architecture project Year:  2024 https://www.archdaily.com/1021575/new-high-rise-block-boblingen-district-hospital-baumschlager-eberle-architektenAndreas LucoSaveRead more » Discover more ✖You've started following your first account!Did you know? You'll now receive updates based on what you follow!
