Get in touch Breaking down barriers and starting a Citizen Science movement The main goal of Science Hack Day is to breakdown the barrier to play with science. The events are less concerned with creating new startups and more focused on getting people without formal science backgrounds to learn and experiment and to start to make their independent decisions based on the knowledge and experience they gain. Empowering people through Science Science should be something that is disruptively accessible – empowering people from a variety of different backgrounds to explore, participate in, and build new ways of interacting with and contributing to science and to a society where informed citizens make decisions together. New Concepts Emerge Scientists who attend the event are often experimenting with new technologies and collaborating outside their domain for the first time. When participants from diverse backgrounds engage in solving problems with a fresh set of eyes, new concepts emerge and go on to influence science and everyone's relationship in unexpected ways.
