David Carette Photographer & Director close BIOGRAPHY - DAVID CARETTE Introduction : Carette’s artistic journey consists of bringing together his personal experiences and visual influences into a coherent artistic signature, with a life of its own. With his photography and film making David brings his characters to life, describes situations, evokes feelings. His fictional portraits are all staged tales. This is Carette’s post-modern art practice.   Now you know him: David Carette’s first career as a creative director and scenographer have naturally led him to do his own film direction and photography. His First carreer : Born in 1972 in Brussels. David studied Photography.  From late 90’s until 2009 he worked as Art Director for 2 companiess. In charge of Brussels and then London offices, he carryied out scenography projects in London, New York, Milano, Beijing, Moscow, and more, for clients such as Swarovski, Doverstreet Market, Chanel, etc. David set up his own creative studio “Demain, il fera jour.” in 2009. Since 2012 : David’s creative energy is centred around his work as a photographer and film director. Carette’s intense photographs, inspired by his love for cinema, reflect a signature style of ambitious narrative driven shots. His photographs and films are characterised by a distinctive sense of composition and a sophisticated use of light, portraying his protagonists in the middle of «staged» sets or well scouted locations. In his films and photography there is always the elaboration of a world, of some characters, and often untold stories. David enjoys longstanding collaborations with models, comedians, talents, technicians, clients, defining his creative and artistic practice as «the combined efforts of everybody he is working with.». David Carette is a creative storyteller, a sophisticated photographer and a meticulous film director. He delivers strong images and films whether it is for fiction, Art, print advertising, film campaigns, digital medium, e-commerce or social platforms.
