Based on a recent report conducted by the Rule of Law ...Impact Lab, Mexican Bar Association, and Inter-American Dialogue, this piece discusses the ongoing developments in Mexico relating to so-called "judicial reforms" that threaten the country's judicial independence and the rule of law. "For weeks, Mexico has been in turmoil over President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s proposed constitutional amendment for judges to be elected by popular vote.
