JavaScript WebGL Shader October 2023 Hangul meets AI Celebrating #HangulDay on October 9th by introducing the #HangulProject 🇰🇷 I’ve designed the visual effects and interactions of Hangul using machine learning and WebGL, from ‘rain’ falling from the sky to ‘snow’ melting on the ground, the sound of waterfalls, and the fiery sight of ‘blazing’ flames. Each work highlights the uniqueness and creativity of Hangul. JavaScript WebGL November 2018 Are You Feeling Lucky? “Are You Feeling Lucky?” is a trivia game developed for use on Assistant visual and speaker platforms through the utilization of Actions on Google. This game represents the world’s first fully immersive voice-forward Assistant experience. JavaScript WebGL Game Framework Design August 2017 NONI NONI NONI NONI is a website that allows users to create three-dimensional visualizations of drawings and letters utilizing colorful balls. It utilizes Google’s Translate API and machine learning technology, similar to that used in the development of QuickDraw. JavaScript WebGL Machine Learning October 2016 MON MON is a project using HTML5 technology such as Canvas, Webkit and WebGL elements, inspired by my child’s Halloween costume, which functions seamlessly on both desktop and mobile devices, including full-screen experience on mobile when added to the home screen. JavaScript WebGL UX/UI Design December 2011 DESK Project DESK is a platform for creators to share and discover inspiration in their personal workspaces, allowing users to upload and browse galleries of desks, recognizing the desk as an integral and often overlooked part of the creative process. ActionScript Objective-C Java June 2014 Google I/O 2014 I developed a solution for 60fps animation for mobile web through various prototypes, which received widespread acclaim and had a significant impact on the animation capabilities of the Google mobile website. JavaScript February 2014 DDANGA DDANGA is the portfolio website of Interactive/Mobile/UI Designer Sanghee Cho. The website is designed with a concept of a flowing gallery, and the interaction was implemented to reflect this concept. JavaScript PHP HTML5 May 2016 Booounce Booounce is a curated collection of visually inspiring short videos and GIFs with engaging animations and transitions throughout the website, developed using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript with custom animation libraries and optimal performance on all devices, especially mobile. JavaScript Canvas UX/UI Design April 2015 MASAHIROMARUYAMA This website delivers an immersive and engaging full-screen 360-degree viewing experience of unique glasses collection by Masahiro Maruyama, using HTML5 canvas drawing technology to create 360-degree portrait photographs, and special animations tailored to the concept of each individual pair of glasses, to attract user’s interest and enhance browsing experience. JavaScript Canvas December 2014 Material Interaction I created this website inspired by Google’s Material Design principles and my encounter with Material Design Principles Postcards at a Google I/O Happy Hour event, to bring interactive and animation elements to the visually striking and playful design. JavaScript Canvas UX/UI Design May 2013 The mimetic words of Hangul The Mimetic Words of Hangul is an art project that visually depicts onomatopoeic and mimetic words based on their meanings, developed using HTML5 Canvas element and fully responsive across desktop and tablet devices, providing immersive and engaging experience. JavaScript Canvas UX/UI Design April 2010 Jongmin Kim Portfolio This project is Jongmin Kim’s portfolio website, inspired by a trip to Tokyo, where the photos arranged in chronological and spatial order created a story that resembled a stop-motion animation. It features a gallery section based on this concept. ActionScript UX/UI Design Labs & Ideas June 2022 Drawing app I developed a cross-platform drawing tool using WebGL, with various brush effects like watercolor, crayon, pen and oil painting, implemented using Shaders, and successfully ported to WebOS and run on the LG StandbyMe platform. JavaScript WebGL Framework Design October 2021 Ice This experiment presents a physics-based simulation of ice that users can interact with using a mouse or finger, rendered in real-time following the laws of physics, allowing users to observe and manipulate the ice as it falls into a 2D cup. JavaScript WebGL Physics February 2020 Pen and Eraser This digital drawing tool prototype features a pen and eraser, developed in two versions using Flutter and JavaScript frameworks, with unique interaction where eraser dust is visually dropped upon selection of the eraser tool, erasure performed in the opposite direction of the original drawing. Flutter Dart JavaScript October 2017 Flip Clock I developed a digital flip clock as a personal project using JavaScript and CSS3, replicating the intricate movements of an analog flip clock for the Nexus 10 device and providing a high-quality visual experience. Inspired by Sanghee Cho’s Heroes Project. JavaScript August 2013 Mtn Dew Portraits For the latest Mountain Dew campaign, Firstborn created a digital experience that let fans go deeper into “living portraits” of Dew’s top athletes. The site features three TV spots by BBDO and Psyop, and adds an interactive layer that expands the story behind each of the intricate motion collages. JavaScript HTML5 March 2013 Lugr Log Luger’s Day is Firstborn’s annual party to celebrate Firstborners, and we usually did some funny things for the day. For Luger’s 2013, I designed a camera App named ‘Lugr Log’ and a website. UI/UX Design August 2012 Cadillac ATS vs The World I built a site that flows between four different international destinations, each one showing off the car’s unique features. The user can explore each location, devour exclusive content and even check in to prove to friends that they were ‘there’. Parallax animation seamlessly pulls the users deeper into each environment to learn more about the car’s features. JavaScript HTML5 April 2011 RBT : Red Bus Tracking I live on Roosevelt Island. Roosevelt Island is a very nice place, but it is sometimes so annoying to wait for the Red Bus. That’s why I made this App named RBT(Red Bus Tracking). It’s very helpful to know how far away the Red Bus is, so I can go to a Cafe or Store while I’m waiting. I want to share this convenience with everyone who takes the Red Bus. Objective-C UX/UI Design April 2011 The Ultimate Sensory Experience It is a website where users can enjoy various interesting interactions provided by the 5 Gum®. This is the first project I worked on in the United States, and I was responsible for developing an interaction that recognized gum boxes and a game-style interaction that turned the handle to fill the gauge. ActionScript October 2010 City Typo T-Shirt If you pronounce the words, it divides into syllables, I classified these syllables and organized the words up and down. For example, word ‘Paris’, pronunciation divides in to (Pa)/(ris), by placing up and down. I made a familiar word to awkward and gave a visually freshness and design effect. Graphic Design August 2008 SAMSUNG DNSe 3.0 The DNSe 3.0 sound technology by Samsung offers interesting new qualities of a sound that can be modified individually depending on one’s taste. The aim of the promotional website was to create a new experience of this sound technology and to let the user feel its sensitive qualities. By visualising the sound ina cube form, the website allows the user to experience the new technology both through and ears. ActionScript January 2008 Concept art for Samsung mobile screen This illustration is for Samsung mobile screen named YEPP. The client wanted various style of illustration, so my team decided to draw each one’s favorite things. Yes, that time I really loved this kind of Gothic Style. I used Photoshop to draw this, and got inspired ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ by Tim Burton who my favorite director. Graphic Design
