Investment in technology to boost local production, export and replace imports. In the printing and paper technology sector, demand in Algeria remains at a consistently high level. Imports in this sector rose from € 57 million in 2016 to € 101 million in 2020 and € 77 million in 2021 and 2022, making Algeria one of the three largest importers of printing and paper technology in Africa together with South Africa and Egypt. When it comes to packaging technology imports, with €127m in 2022, Algeria belongs to the leading importers in Africa, together with Nigeria, South Africa and Egypt.
