index.en | Blog of Sara Jakša Home and About Archive Projects I am Sara Jakša (sarajaksa@sarajaksa.eu) , and this is my website. Who I am / About me About this site How to contact me Who I am / About me Current location: Ljubljana Planned trips: Berlin, Germany in November for the IndieWeb Camp and Beyond Tellerand conference I am a software developer by morning, economics and cognitive scientist by education and a mess of everything by interest. So I don't yet know what I am in the afternoon and night. Currently spending a lot of my time on fanfiction. You can feed me stories, interesting facts (from linguistics and history to physics), and daydreams. I very rarely bite. I live in Ljubljana. In real life, you can find me on some tech meetups and queer events. Currently I also dance at TEJ Dance and play go at the local library. Occasionally I will pop out in different library events, university lectures, language cafe, dancing or board game events. Always up for a walk, if anybody wants to invite me. In person, I would consider myself part of these communities: Queer and a-spec Tech community Ljubljana Python community Women programmers Go playing Dancing Toastmasters (even though I have not been a member for years) In the past, I considered myself part of these in-person communities: Language learning International Drawing Cognitive science students Online, I consider myself part of these communities: IndieWeb CGC Fanfiction community Yuumori fandom Yuumori Rare Ships Discord About this site If you want to know more about me, you can check some of the below pages: For my talks and my CV, you can go to my CV page cv For my writings, you can check my blog blog For my projects, you can check my project overview site For my drawings, you can check my gallery gallery For the media, that I watch, you can check my read books list or the list of other media like movies For my very short notes, you can also check my micro posts page, which I started to hopefully help me diversify my posting If you want to follow me, you can always subscribe to one of my RSS feeds. This site is a work in progress. It is one small part to have an online presence, and a bigger part to force myself to sometimes actually sent in the public the stuff, that is not yet finished. It started by having a conversation one evening at the cafe, which was more like dare or encouragement then with any specific goal. The note about the post languages, my native language is Slovenian and I think I am fairly fluent in English. Every other language is something I am still learning and therefore probably have a lot of mistakes that I would not see even when re-reading it. If you want me to remove a link to you or if you think you recognise yourself and want me to reword that part, send me an email and I will make sure to amend it. How to contact me You can always reach me on my email: sarajaksa@sarajaksa.eu . This and in person are my preferred ways of communication. You can find me on some other sites as well. Email: sarajaksa@sarajaksa.eu AO3 (archiveofourown.org): sarajaksa Discord: sarajaksa I also have these account, but I check them a lot less frequently, so keep that in mind, if you are contacting me throgh one of these: Pixiv: sarajaksa GitHub: sarajaksa IndieWeb Profile: sarajaksa.eu Meetup: Sara Jakša There are also some very old accounts, that I do not check. If possible, try to not contact me through these (even though they are mine): Fanfiction.net Aviva-Aviva I am mostly using a phone to communicate with my family member. So I give my phone number only to people, that I already know and I see it would solve a specific problem. Otherwise I don't give it up. You will have to accept, that I am not sharing it and I will attack anybody giving it to other people with a paper fan. There are some services, that I do not account for and do not intent to make an account for. You can not find me there: Facebook Instagram LinkedIn Mastodon/Fediverse Matrix Reddit Slack (except for work and AO3 volunteering, where I use account specific to that) Telegram TikTok Tumblr Twitter (X) Webmention/Pingbacks WhatsUp I am always open for any kind of contact. I will even sometimes write back to the people trying to sell me e-bikes, and bags and SEO. I am also the type of person, that will explicitly tell, if I find somebody annoying. Even then I won't be insulted by it. If you want to start a conversation, you can always ask any of the below questions (copied the idea from Marr): What have you been reading? What problem are you thinking about? Any fanfiction ideas you are working on? What non-computer hobby are you trying this time? Any presentations you had/will have? Or start with just a random observations you had - I really like learning about almost anything. Or any questions that you have. I have high three digits posts and I am usually up to talking about the things from years ago. I like the it means that other people don't have to worry about whether they are insulting you of the Crocker's Rules (copied from bacardi55). You can assume this to be true. My cadence tends to be slower than the social media one. If I did not answer you, then it is on me. Usually it is because I don't have energy, I did not see it yet (I use my vacations from work to be internet-free, in which case it can take weeks for me to see it), or I don't yet know what to answer. I know it does not feel like it, but it is always my fault, so don't take it to your heart.
