He’s spent time at Equal Vision, Vagrant, TVT, EMI, Atlantic, and Sony, where he was a 2016 Clio and Cannes Lions winner for his work with Bob Dylan. In 2007, he founded WashedUpEmo.com, a destination for the entire history of emo. The site has been featured in The New Yorker, AV Club, Pitchfork, Billboard, Spin, Paste, Village Voice, Stereogum, Chicago Reader, Noisey, and Brooklyn Vegan. In 2011, it expanded to a podcast and DJ night in NYC. In 2014, he launched isthisbandemo.com, a site helping the world realize which bands are emo or not with a smile and a wink.  Tom spends his free time watching the New York Mets blow leads late and digitizing VHS tapes for a future emo museum. A proud native of Vermont, he lives in Los Angeles.   About the podcastWashed Up Emo started as a podcast in 2011 after Tom realized a noticeable void of podcasts from the genre. Utilizing music industry connections and his background as a college radio DJ, it quickly snowballed with critical acclaim after a few episodes.
