The project aims to formulate and implement a comprehensive framework alongside an associated pilot initiative, integrating cutting-edge Real-Time Data Acquisition Systems (RTDAS) and reservoir inflow forecasting. The overarching goal is to equip Bhutan with the capability to accurately forecast reservoir inflow on an hourly basis, generated daily with a lead time of 72 hours, specifically tailored for the operational needs of the Chhukha Hydropower Plant. Read more Empowering Livelihoods through Improved Energy Access Introducing and promoting the adoption of solar energy technology to enhance livelihoods is a central focus of this energy provisioning project under TERI's "Energy Access for Livelihood Promotion" initiatives, supported by Indus Towers Limited. This intervention aims to develop and deliver tailored technology solutions specifically designed for the needs of weavers. In this delivery model, TERI takes on the pivotal role of orchestrating the entire project, from strategic planning and tailoring innovative solutions to identifying and engaging partners—whether they be funding agency, technology providers, local institutions, or beneficiary groups. Our consultative, inclusive, and transparent methodology fosters strong, long-term partnerships at every level. A core aspect of our intervention is the continuous development of local institutions, which becomes the cornerstone for sustaining the initiative while also enabling the seamless replication and scaling of successful pilot projects. Central to the sustainability of our efforts is the comprehensive training and capacity building of communities, empowering them to maintain and manage the technology, ultimately leading to increased household incomes and economic resilience.Read more Improving urban air quality by facilitating piloting of clean air zones The development of a detailed CAZ (clean air zone) plan would focus on measures related to traffic and transportation (such as pedestrianization, cycle tracks, and EV mobility), urban planning (land use plans, heritage conservation), emission control, air quality monitoring and dust control. Through this plan, the program seeks to prioritize solutions based on emission reduction to enhance air quality in the study area. This approach aligns with sectoral sustainability goals by addressing environmental, social, and economic aspects of urban air quality improvement. The project aims to facilitate piloting of CAZs as a policy solution to improve air quality. The objective of the program is to improve air quality in the cities of Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada, with a specific focus on transport sector interventions. This would be achieved by facilitating the piloting of CAZs in these cities through the development of an implementation plan in consultation with appropriate authorities. Read more Youth Climate Conclave To foster a community of young innovators dedicated to crafting solutions that mitigate the effects of climate change, the 5th edition of the 'Youth Climate Conclave' (YCC) is being convened. YCC is being held under the India-EU Clean Energy and Climate Partnership (CECP) project, financed and managed by the Delegation of the European Union to India. TERI has been implementing the YCC activity since 2019. The conclave features a series of pre-event activities for children and youth, including a youth photography competition, a two-day knowledge enrichment session aligned with TERI's World Sustainable Development Summit 2025, and an exclusive educational excursion to provide evidence-based learning to empower youth in combating climate change.
