With a database that is updated daily, 211 Colorado can connect you to critical resources simply by dialing a three-digit number. Whether you are searching for a shelter availability, childcare, or rent payment assistance – 211 can connect you to available resources in your community. Our history: In 1999, community leaders across the state of Colorado began working together to develop an integrated system of independent information and referral call centers. In 2002, the Public Utilities Commission approved the plan, and the 2-1-1 dial code was officially active in the state of Colorado. Today, 211 Colorado provides border-to-border coverage of Colorado, serving all 64 counties. 211 Colorado is provided by seven non-profit organizations. Our Impact When speaking to a 2-1-1 Help Center Resource Navigator, Joseph* was connected to an agency where he received bus passes, not only for his interview, but to get to and from his potential new job. *name changed for privacy Kylie,* a single mother with two children, needed help with her rent. Because of 2-1-1, she was able to get connected to assistance so that she and her children would not lose their home. *name changed for privacy Alisha* was out of work when she had a newborn baby and her father-in-law was battling a terminal illness, which put some financial strain on the household. When he sadly passed away, their family was facing rent, utility fees, and late fees. 2-1-1 was able to connect her to resources to alleviate some financial stress during this already difficult time. *name changed for privacy “I found 2-1-1 to be helpful because I didn’t have to search through a phone book or the internet for places I’ve never heard of. 2-1-1 is able to give more direct answers and I know the services are reputable.” “The Resource Navigator was able to help keep me calm and I could tell she genuinely cared. No matter how many times I called for help, 2-1-1 was there for me.” PreviousNext Community Agencies 211 Colorado prides itself on having the most up-to-date information on community resources.
