In 1904, Sir Halford Mackinder, director of the London School of Economics, gave a presentation at the Royal Geographical Society that proved to be influential. “The Geographical Pivot of History” posited a World-Island: Africa Asia, and Europe, the “heartland” of which stretched from the Persian Gulf to the Siberian Sea. Mackinder later summarized his thesis: “Who rules the Heartland commands the World-Island. Who rules the World-Island commands the world.” This would become a key tenet of Britain’s foreign policy until the end of World War II. It was largely responsible for the destruction of its empire. At that point, the intellectual baton was passed to the American empire, to which it will do the same. The problem for both British and American imperialists is that their countries are peripheral to this Heartland of the World-Island, while Russia and China are the biggest part of it. In the nineteenth century, Britain’s peripheral position was overcome by maritime and industrial prowess. Britain’s navy was the linchpin of the empire. Its shared position with the U.S. as an Industrial Revolution leader bolstered its power and led to the relentless drive for resources that was an impetus for the empire’s growth. THE GRAY RADIANCE DESCRIPTION, CHAPTER ONE John Maynard Keynes once wrote: Practical men who believe themselves to be quite exempt from any intellectual influence, are usually the slaves of some defunct economist. The U.S. intellectual and political establishment are slaves to a defunct geopolitical scientist, Mackinder. That’s not to suggest that his World-Island and Heartland aren’t important, but rather to challenge the quasi-religious belief that the U.S. can subjugate and control them. It can’t, and how well it adopts to that reality will determine how the rest of the 21st century and beyond goes for the U.S. Continue reading →Share this:TweetMoreEmailPrintLike Loading... 9 Comments Posted in Uncategorized No Straight Line Logic Posting, 2/9-2/12 Posted on February 9, 2025 | Leave a comment I will not be posting on Straight Line Logic from Sunday, February 9 through Wednesday, February 12. From Kelly at declassified.live: Concealing the names of thousands of FBI employees involved in the biggest criminal investigation in history represents just another coverup of the FBI’s role in the events of January 6. FBI Agents Hunt Down a J6er For four years, rank and file of the Federal Bureau of Investigation played the role of courageous heroes fighting the “domestic terror” threat posed by Americans who protested at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. Invasive investigations typically involved FBI agents interrogating the family members, co-workers, and even childhood friends of their J6 targets. FBI investigators scoured bank records, Amazon accounts, credit card statements, travel receipts, social media posts including direct messages and other private records in an attempt to build “terrorism” cases. Following those investigations, FBI agents clad in military-style gear carrying powerful weapons and using battering rams executed hundreds of surprise raids across the country, even those accused of nonviolent offenses. And it wasn’t just the target and his family who were traumatized by the excessive show of force; quiet neighborhoods were abruptly awakened by an FBI agent shouting into a bullhorn during predawn hours to call out the name of the alleged terrorist in their midst as tanks blocked off nearby roads. Defendants were then hauled to local jails to face more questioning by FBI agents, often without the presence of an attorney, who then proceeded to seize electronic devices, clothing, photographs, and other items that represented “evidence” of their crime. (The FBI even took a Lego set of the U.S. Capitol found in the home of a middle school history teacher.) Continue reading Share this:TweetMoreEmailPrintLike Loading... Leave a comment Posted in Uncategorized There Is Nothing Green About the ‘Green’ Agenda, by Steve Milloy Posted on February 8, 2025 | 1 comment Nothing, that is, except the billions of dollars that have gone to green crony socialists. From Steve Milloy at realclearenergy.org: Now that the Democrats have lost their lock grip on power, what’s a green activist to do? It’s almost comical how the climate left is trying to cloak their agenda in terms they think will melt in Republicans’ ears. For example, Jennifer Granholm, energy secretary in the Biden administration recently penned an opinion piece arguing that President Trump is playing right into Communist China’s evil hands by killing off America’s green economy.  Translation: The left is furious that Trump has halted the flow of billions of taxpayers’ dollars to subsidize electric vehicles that nobody wants and only the well-off can afford. The new president is killing the “green economy,” as Granholm puts it. There is nothing green about the climate left’s solutions.  Continue reading Share this:TweetMoreEmailPrintLike Loading... 1 Comment Posted in Uncategorized Larry Ellison Helped Track COVID Shots—Now Trump Wants Him Controlling AI’s Future, by Kit Klarenberg Posted on February 8, 2025 | Leave a comment Larry Ellison is one of the shadiest of Trump and Vance’s many shady Silicon Valley friends. From Kit Klarenberg at mintpressnews.com: The early January launch of Chinese startup DeepSeek’s Artificial Intelligence models, which rival, if not outright eclipse, the capabilities of all current industry leaders at a negligible fraction of the cost, has been widely hailed by Western news outlets as a revolutionary disruption of the U.S.-dominated tech world order. Hundreds of billions have been shaved off American AI giant Nvidia’s stock price. Silicon Valley is frenziedly imploring Donald Trump to take decisive action and regain Washington’s “strategic advantage” in the sphere. The Trump administration can only be a receptive audience to such entreaties. In fact, the loudest and most determined pleading to beat Beijing in the global battle for AI supremacy will be emanating from individuals and organizations in intimate proximity to the President, up to and including members of his new cabinet. While unacknowledged in the mainstream, Trump is, one way or another, surrounded by people with extensive financial, ideological and political interests in AI products and applications to a marked degree. For example, Trump’s confirmed CIA director, John Ratcliffe, has for years sat on the board of and consulted for multiple AI firms with Pentagon contracts extending to billions. This includes Arctop, which uses Artificial Intelligence to “interpret brain signals to seamlessly translate thoughts into speech and digital actions” and currently has a $1.25 million contract with the U.S. Air Force to monitor the brain activity of cadets in training. Moreover, from 2021-2022, Ratcliffe consulted for Shield AI. In the second year of his employment, the company received a $950 million Air Force contract to use Artificial Intelligence to pilot unmanned drones. The CIA has secretly long-exploited such tech to run its targeted assassination programs the world over. Shield AI isn’t the only company to which Ratcliffe is linked offering these services, and his nomination disclosure to the Senate links him to half a dozen companies inextricably tied to the Military Industrial Complex. In that document, the CIA chief declares “none” of his business dealings could represent any conflict of interest with his new role or even “appear” to. Ratcliffe’s unconvincing denials are particularly difficult to reconcile with Trump announcing on January 23—the second day of his second term in office—a $500 billion AI initiative, Stargate. Under its auspices, 20 large AI data centers will be constructed in the U.S. by 2029, managed by a consortium of major private Artificial Intelligence firms and financial institutions. Leave a comment Posted in Uncategorized The Blob War, by The Zman Posted on February 8, 2025 | 1 comment Billions go to Nongovernmental Organizations (NGOs) that actually exercise a great deal of control over both foreign and domestic governance. From The Zman at thezman.com: The most surprising and most consequential event of the President Trump sequel has been the USAID scandal. No one thought that part of his revenge tour would be a direct assault on one of the main centers of the foreign policy hive. Until now, few people had any knowledge of this entity. Now it is in the center of the news because Trump has shut it down and put Musk and his whiz kids to the task of auditing the organization while the staff paces outside in the streets. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) was sort of created by Congress in 1961 as a way to regulate foreign aid. Congress did not actually create an organization to do this. It directed the White House to create an organization, which is how the independent, not-for-profit entity called USAID came into existence and how it has operated ever since. It gets money through the State Department for its various programs, but it also raises money on its own. To this point, there has been no oversight of USAID. It has been free, for example, to give money to George Soros organizations that do things like back candidates for state prosecutor in the United States. That seems like an odd use of foreign aid, but it really is the tip of the iceberg, which is why Trump is closing it down. That lack of oversight plus decades of existence created an organization that was operating like a government outside the government that financed it. Of course, much of its activity was aimed at foreign governments. USAID backed the failed color revolution in Georgia last year. It was through the many local operations it supported that it was able to get people into the streets. The reason they did this is the Georgia parliament passed a law banning foreign money in politics. Georgia did not want to be the next Ukraine. The 2005 Orange revolution in Ukraine and the 2014 Maiden coup in 2014 were both underwritten by USAID. From Tyler Durden at zerohedge.com: Slowly, the unprecedented payrolls fabrication of the Biden administration, which we spent much of the past 4 years exposing to our readers, is starting to unravel. Earlier today, the BLS confirmed what we previewed last night (see “Tomorrow’s Jobs Report Will Finally Capture The Surge In Illegal Aliens, Lead To Another Big Negative Payrolls Revision“), and admitted what we had been saying for much of the past 3 years – that most of the job gains in the past few years, and especially 2024, were a mirage, and following the dramatic August 2024 preliminary data revision which vaporized 818K jobs (which had never existed in the first place)… … today we finally saw the details behind this near-record revision. As part of its annual revision to both the Establishment and Household survey, today the BLS said that the “seasonally adjusted total nonfarm employment level for March 2024 was revised downward by 589,000. On a not seasonally adjusted basis, the total nonfarm employment level for March 2024 was revised downward by 598,000, or -0.4 percent. Not seasonally adjusted, the absolute average benchmark revision over the past 10 years is 0.1 percent.” As a result, the over-the-year change in payrolls for March 2024 was revised from +2,900,000 to +2,346,000. By Eric Peters Posted on February 8, 2025 | 1 comment Don Corleone never had it as good as the insurance company capos. From Eric Peters at ericpetersautso.com: State Farm – one the several “families” of the insurance mafia  – has reportedly asked the government that serves as the mafia’s enforcer to allow it to increase what people in the state of California are coerced into paying for home insurance by 20 percent. This is presented as necessary to “cover” the costs incurred by the fires that burned down so many homes in California. Well, weren’t all those “premiums” people were coerced into paying supposed to pay for just such losses? Of course, a sizable tranche of the money mulcted from “policyholders” went to pay for the Crassus-like salaries paid to the capos and dons of the mafia, who earn millions annually mulcting “policyholders” and – this is important – using every imaginable shyster-trick to get out of paying when a “policyholder” files a claim and expects to get paid. Luigi wasn’t wrong about this. Well, how much more are we talkin’ about, Willis? The pre-fire average annual cost of “coverage” in California was about $10,000. Imagine that. Imagine paying out $50,000 in just five years to “cover” your home. How many people can afford the cost of such “coverage”? How many people will be driven out of their homes by those costs? By what it is shortly going to cost? Probably a lot – given another 20 percent on top of that. It amount to another $2,000 annually, or about $12,000 after the fire. This is likely to prompt some sales. Extremely affluent celebrities and government hog-troughers can afford this. Average California people cannot. From RT at swentr.site: The nation faces the risk of major defeat in future conflicts without immediate reforms to outdated weapons programs, the tech billionaire has warned Elon Musk speaks with US President-elect Donald Trump at a viewing of the launch of a test flight of the SpaceX Starship rocket on November 19, 2024. ©  Getty/Brandon Bell The US risks major defeat in the country’s next war unless it urgently reforms its outdated weapons programs, Elon Musk has warned in a stark assessment of the nation’s defense capabilities. Musk, who owns X and heads SpaceX and Tesla, has been appointed as a “special government employee” to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under US President Donald Trump, and is now among his key advisers. “American weapons programs need to be completely redone. The current strategy is to build a small number of weapons at a high price to fight yesterday’s war. Unless there are immediate and dramatic changes made, America will lose the next war very badly,” Musk wrote on X. The billionaire has long been a vocal critic of inefficiencies within the US defense sector, arguing that excessive bureaucracy and outdated military strategies undermine national security. Musk’s DOGE department has actively worked to streamline federal operations, including those related to defense. General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, the maker of the Predator drone, has urged DOGE to reform the Pentagon’s contracting system, calling the current process too slow and bureaucratic to counter threats from nations such as China and Iran. From Caitlin Johnstone at caitlinjohnstone.com: British journalist Richard Medhurst is once again being persecuted by federal law enforcement in yet another western nation for his reporting on the abuses of Israel and its western backers, this time in Austria. ❖ British journalist Richard Medhurst is once again being persecuted by federal law enforcement in yet another western nation for his reporting on the abuses of Israel and its western backers, this time in Austria. Austrian police and intelligence services reportedly detained Medhurst in Vienna on Monday, then searched his home and seized electronic devices, saying they did so on the suspicion that he is affiliated with Hamas. In August Medhurst was arrested by British counterterrorism police under Section 12 of the UK Terrorism Act of 2000 and detained for 24 hours, reportedly for expressing political opinions that were deemed too sympathetic toward a proscribed terrorist group.  In other words, a western journalist has been targeted and persecuted by law enforcement in multiple western nations for speech that is critical of Israel. This comes days after journalist Ali Abunimah was jailed for two nights by Swiss police for expressing wrongthink about Israel, and continues a trend that’s been escalating since the Gaza holocaust began.  Really sit and contemplate how creepy and frightening it is that civil rights are being systematically dismantled throughout the western world in the name of protecting the information interests of a genocidal apartheid state in the middle east.
